Gingerbread & Peppermint Messy Fun!

We are continuing to play with the products from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite. And today is the day we are going to get messy! Just a little bit though. 🙂

Today’s Video

I had so much fun on Friday creating with the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories and More cards! If you missed that video, here is a link: https://www.thepolkadotlife.com/gingerbread-peppermint-memories-more/

Now it is time to play with the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks and Embossing Paste. The masks feature 4 different designs. I used the snowflake pattern in today’s video. However, the remaining 3 designs could be used year-round on your cards. Our Embossing Paste comes in both matte and shimmer finishes. You will also want to have a set of our Palette Knives to spread your Embossing Paste.

Gingerbread & Peppermint Cards

You will notice that my original card design was vertical. But, I glued the layer in my video in the wrong direction! So my design in the video became a landscape card. Happy accident!

Let’s not forget about adding the Shimmery Crystal Effects to our cards! I think that adding this to the little peppermint shapes took my card from nice to WOW. Sometimes it is all in the details.

Thank you so much for watching my video today! I hope that you learned something new right along with me. As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More

As soon as I saw the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite in the Holiday Catalog, I knew that I wanted to play with it! There are so many elements that are part of the suite. Today I want to focus on the Memories & More Card Pack and the Memories & More Cards & Envelopes.

Today’s Video

There are times whenever you don’t want to drag out all of your craft supplies but you still want to make some cards. The Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More Card Pack is the perfect solution! All of the prep work is already done for you. Especially when you pair them with the Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. I know. The names are incredibly similar and confusing!!

In just a few minutes, I was able to put together 8 different cards. The cards are lovely just as they are designed, but I find that adding just a few simple embellishments take the cards to an elevated status. And these cards are just slightly larger than our regular-sized cards. They are really nice for writing a note on your holiday cards.

So Many Gingerbread & Peppermint Cards!

Keep the Memories & More Cards in mind anytime you want to make some cards quickly. They are fantastic for when you are going to travel yet still want to take a project with you. Stampin’ Up usually offers Memories & More Cards in a few different designs. And don’t forget that they are also great to use for all of your memory-keeping projects too! As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Gifts Galore Paper Pumpkin

The November 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit is titled Gifts Galore. This is one of my favorite kits of the year! The kit features enough supplies to create 9 adorable gift holders, three of each design.

Today’s Video

I made the complete kit as it was intended. Aren’t these gift holders the cutest? I think that the size of these cutouts just makes the project perfect!

Since I made the kit as intended, I didn’t use the kit supplies to create alternatives. However, I used the stamps from the kit to create some fun and festive gift tags! We all need those this time of the year.

Whimsy & Wonder by Stampin’ Up

The Whimsy & Wonder Suite of Products takes traditional Christmas elements and gives them a fresh twist! The colors are unconventional for the holidays. However, I think that unlocked my creativity!

Today’s Video

While we aren’t crafting a card together today, I hope that you find a card that you would enjoy recreating. The cards are uncomplicated so you should be able to duplicate one easily.

Once I got going making cards, I could hardly stop. Seriously. I stamped and die cut several of the images using the suggested colors of the suite. Then, I just jumped in! Here are all of the cards i made super quickly!

Merry Snowflakes by Stampin’ Up

The Merry Snowflakes Bundle features a stamp set and a die set. The stamps offer some large, traditional greetings. Also, there are three very nice snowflakes images.

Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy pop off the Basic White card base. The Basic White layer has been embossed with the Wintry Embossing Folder that has the pine branches. There are actually two folders that make up that set. The other folder has snowflakes. So, either one of those designs would work for this card.

The other paper featured on this card is from The Beauty Of The Earth Designer Series Paper pack. I feel that it added just the right touch. Don’t forget to add a little Wink Of Stella for the perfect amount of sparkle!

Peaceful Christmas Paper Pumpkin October 2021

The Peaceful Christmas Paper Pumpkin kit for October is packed full of holiday goodness! The main color is Shaded Spruce. Accents of silver add a beautiful shimmer to the cards.

Today’s Video

I chose to make the cards in the kit as directed. They are lovely! My alternative cards use the stamps from the kit. Additionally, I used the Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper. But you could substitute any DSP that you have in your craft stash to recreate my cards.

More Peaceful Christmas Cards

The card that is featured at the top of the blog is my favorite. I used our White Craft Ink to stamp a background on Basic Gray cardstock. The small snowflakes around the sentiment were heat embossed using Silver Embossing Powder. But getting to use the Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon really made my heart happy! It is just so dreamy to work with.

On this card, I used the tree image stamp to create a border on Basic Gray Cardstock. The silver embossing makes the trees pop right off the page!

I had some leftover paper that I had stamped with the White Craft Ink. So, I cut that down into 1″ strips along with some leftover DSP. I adhered these strips to a Basic White layer of cardstock that measures 3 3/4″ x 5″. Then I added this layer to a piece of Silver Foil Specialty Paper. Before adhering this layer, I added some Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon. I then added this layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Harvest Meadow by Stampin’ Up

When the Holiday Mini Catalog came out, I was immediately drawn to the Harvest Meadow Suite. I am a fall girl at heart and these colors just drew me in!

Today’s Video

I will admit that I bought this entire suite. The images and sentiments of the stamp set work for so many different occasions. However, on today’s card, I used a Happy Birthday sentiment from a different stamp set because that is the kind of card I needed.

The Timeworn Type Embossing Folder is one that you will find yourself using all of the time! And adding the Soft Succulent Ink just emphasizes the raised parts of the cardstock.

More Harvest Meadow Cards

I loved the examples shown in the catalog. So, that is where I started to play! If you ever find yourself needing a jumping off point, I would suggest copying one the catalog examples. That will get your creative juices flowing!

This fun fold card was great to make. Because of the design, I was able to use and showcase many different images from the stamp set.

I particularly love the trim in this suite. Therefore, this is my favorite of today’s cards!

Pool Party is not listed as one of the colors in the DSP, but that is exactly what color that I saw. This was a different color combination but I feel that it works.

I hope that you were inspired today to try this terrific suite of products. The suite is just jam packed with goodness! As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative.

Gorgeous Leaves Note Cards

Today’s project features the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle. Also, we are going to play with cutting felt and using it on our cards! Our Note Cards & Envelopes make the perfect choice for a quick card or gift set.

Today’s Video

The Gorgeous Leaves Bundle features the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set and the Intricate Leaves Dies. There are just way too many possibilities with this bundle to cover in one project or video. So, we are just going to look at using the dies to cut out felt today.

More Gorgeous Leaves Note Cards

Have you ever added felt to your cards before? I enjoy adding some different textures or textiles on occasion. Changing things up sometimes can be fun!

This stamp set is a great way to add interest to the background of your cards. I promise you will use the two “splotchy” stamps more than you think.

Any stamp set and most dies will work well for this layout. Play around and see what you love!

This card is my favorite. The Whimsical Trees Bundle was used on this card. I simply used a Blending Brush with Pool Party Ink to add a soft, little oval to my paper. Next, I added the trees cut from the felt to my card. And last, I stamped a sweet little tree on my envelope.

I hope that you were inspired to try adding some different things to your cards. As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Cute Halloween by Stampin’ Up

The Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper is just that…CUTE! There are little bats dressed as vampires, goofy skeletons with purple birds, and adorable cats. My family enjoys Halloween and trick-or-treat but we just keep things on the lighter side of life.

Today’s Video

I decided that this year I would send a few more Halloween cards than I usually do. In particular, I was thinking about some older teens, college students, and young professionals. These people don’t expect anything from you. However, they would be excited to get a little “happy” in the mail.

A Gallery of Cute Halloween Cards

All of these cards emphasize three things. First, you can see how varying colors of card bases change the look of the card. Second, you can see how the slight 1/8″ border helps to pop the DSP off the card. And finally, cards do not need to be complicated to look great!I pulled these cards together in no time at all. Just set up an assembly line and keep things rolling.

As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Pretty Pumpkins by Stampin’ Up

I was so excited to finally sit down and play with the Pretty Pumpkins bundle! Both the stamp set and die set have lovely images that can be used for all types of cards.

Today’s Video

Using several colors on a stamp gives such depth and life to an image. For that reason, I chose to demonstrate that technique today. Our Stampin’ Write Markers come in every color that Stampin’ Up carries. But, we don’t use them nearly as often as we should. The Stamparatus tool allows us to easily use multiple colors on our images!

More Pretty Pumpkin Cards

In contrast, these two above images were colored using our Stampin’ Blends Markers. You get a totally different look and feel to your cards!

I used Crumb Cake Ink and stamped the smaller pumpkin. Clear Embossing Powder was quickly sprinkled over the image and it was heat set. The same process was used for the sentiment. I die cut the larger pumpkin from a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock. A twine bow adds the finishing touch.

Finally, my last card of the day might be my favorite one. I wanted a simple yet elegant card for fall. I used a fall-type sentiment, but a birthday or wedding sentiment would also work very nicely.

As always remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative.
