Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin Alternative

I cannot believe it is Paper Pumpkin week already. It was so much fun making this Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin alternative. I usually do an alternative card with items in the kit, but I am obsessed with the snail stamp!

Today’s Video

Another Sweet Snail Card

Both of the cards feature layers that I created using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. They both begin with a Gray Granite layer adhered directly to the Basic White Thick card base. The first card features a smaller Petal Pink layer and the second card was made with a Misty Moonlight cardstock layer. I stamped random images from the stamp set on Basic White cardstock in the same color ink.

Next, I stamped both greetings using Basic Gray ink. I felt like black ink would be too harsh. Then, I glued the stamped and colored layers together. I wrapped it with the white twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack. I tied a small bow then added this layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

After making the second card, I realized that I must have grabbed a Night of Navy piece of cardstock instead of Misty Moonlight. But either one works. Add both the sentiments using your favorite adhesive.

The snail image was stamped on Basic White Thick Cardstock using Basic Gray ink and colored using the blends. I used Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight, and Seaside Spray blends to color it. I used a 1 1/2″ Circle Punch to cut it out. It was adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Would the snail not look adorable if you adhered “googlie” eyes?!!

Paper Pumpkin kits are so versatile. The cards in this month’s kit are great as is. I didn’t want to change them. But once the kit is used up, you still own the stamp set. And look at the kinds of cards you can create!

As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Beary Comforting

This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit has arrived and it is Beary Comforting! I was actually very surprised to see my kit arrive before Christmas. With the huge volume of packages in the mail this year, I did not expect it until after Christmas to be honest. The USPS has really rocked it this holiday season in my area.

The ink spot included in this month’s kit is Rich Razzleberry. Calypso Coral, Soft Sea Foam, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Gray, Cinnamon Cider, Daffodil Delight, and White are the colors featured in the kit. Additionally, the kit features die cuts of a pair of koala bears, a brown bear, and a raccoon.

As I mentioned in my video, this kit was not my favorite. And I simply could have skipped it. But I am glad that I did not! The stamp set still features greetings and images that I like. And the card bases and other basic items are beautiful! Nothing against the animals, but I just will not use them. They aren’t my style. However, when I started creating, I just could hardly stop!

Today’s Beary Comforting Video

My example in the video is slightly different than the original card that I created. A different embellishment was used. I love them both. You probably would not even notice the difference if I didn’t tell you. That is something that I hope you can take away from my video. If you do not have the exact item that I use, think about what items you do have that could be substituted in. Think of my example as a card sketch!

Paper Pumpkin Jolly Gingerbread

My Paper Pumpkin Jolly Gingerbread kit has arrived! Let’s unbox it together! We will make one of the gift card holders as it was intended to be made. Also, we will take some of the supplies from the kit, add a few supplies from our craft room, and make an alternative card.

The contents of this kit are pretty impressive. A large portion of Tear & Tape is included along with a nice stamp set. However, the best thing in the kit are the glossy, round pieces of faux candy! They are very realistic looking.

I enjoy making alternative projects with the kits. Sometimes it is because I do not need or want the project featured in the kit. Other times it is just because I enjoy the challenge of creating something different. Additionally, I enjoy making projects using the stamp set even after the supplies from the kit have been depleted. I also send an exclusive alternate project to my Paper Pumpkin subscribers as well.

Paper Pumpkin’s Joy To The World

This month, Paper Pumpkin’s Joy To The World, is the star of the show! It is a very traditional themed kit. The ink spot that was included in the kit is Just Jade. It is a beautiful shade and plays nicely with the other greens in our Stampin’ Up lineup. Join me today as I make one of the cards as intended as well as a few alternative ideas.

More Fun With Paper Pumpkin’s Joy To The World

This month’s cards are a little larger than our normal A2 size. Please keep that in mind as you explore and make some alternative projects. If you decide to cut up an envelope to use the liner print and if you use one of the included card bases, you will need to cut the base down to a size of 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ with the score line at 4 1/4″. This is because you will need to use a medium size envelope from your stash.

Don’t forget that once all of the included supplies are used, you still own a stamp set! I print out the coordinating insert from the Paper Pumpkin website and store both the insert and stamp set in a plastic sleeve. Then I file them by year so I can easily find them to use on other cards or projects.
