Cut & Shuffle Technique Cards

Today I am featuring the Cut & Shuffle Technique. This method is great for creating some quick and easy cards. And I have FIVE different sets of cards to show you!

Today’s Video

First, you select the Designer Series Paper you want to use. Second, you cut the paper following the given measurements. Third, you shuffle the Designer Series Paper over your layer of cardstock and glue them down. Fourth, you adhere your cardstock layer to your cardstock. And finally, you add whatever decorative elements or sentiments you want.

Fancy Flora Cards

I was afraid that my Designer Series Paper choice would be too busy. But I love how these cards turned out.

More Cut & Shuffle Cards

These cards were made using the Day At The Farm Designer Series Paper and the On The Farm Bundle. I am obsessed with farm animals!

I was so excited to play with the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper and the Dainty Delight Bundle!

And my Favored Flower cards. I seriously disliked this paper until I played with it! Now I am a fan. 🙂

The Sun Print cards are where it all began for me.

I hope that you enjoyed learning this technique. It is a really fun one! As always, remember to be kind, send a car, and do something creative!

Cutting Instructions

  1. Begin with your Designer Series Papers. Stack them. Cut them all at one time to 3 3/4″ x 5″.
  2. With the 3 3/4″ side at the top of your trimmer, cut at the 2″ mark.
  3. Keep the 2″ strip on the trimmer and rotate it so the 5″ side is at the top. Cut at 2″. Remove these pieces from the trimmer. Make two stacks.
  4. Grab the 1 3/4″ strip stack and put it back on the trimmer, keeping them aligned. Place the 5″ side along at the top of the trimmer. Cut at the 1 1/2″ mark.
  5. Keep each size together.
  6. Distribute them on each 4″ x 5 1/4″ cardstock layer, varying the designs. Reference the video as needed.
  7. Secure the pieces on the layers with the adhesive of your choice.
  8. Assemble your cards. You can use dimensional or not. Add embellishments.

Wonderful World by Stampin’ Up

The Wonderful World Bundle is an amazing gift with purchase offered by Stampin’ Up. You can earn this bundle as a part of Stampin’ Up’s Sale-A-Bration promotion. The bundle consists of Designer Series Paper and a stamp set.

Today’s Video

The images from the stamp set may not appear like much on the case or in the catalog, but WOW do they stamp beautifully! Today I used Blending Brushes, but you could also use our Stampin’ Write Markers to add color to the stamps.

More Wonderful World Cards

Additionally, don’t forget that my inspiration came directly from the catalog. My card doesn’t look just like that one, but it provided an idea to get me started. Remember that the catalog can also be referred to as an idea book!

This bundle can be yours for FREE with a $100 purchase until August 31st or until supplies are gone.

As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Hippest Hippos by Stampin’ Up

I am so happy that I chose the Hippest Hippos Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up as my gift with purchase recently. Additionally, I was able to get the coordinating Hippo Dies. They work together to make the happiest cards! And the Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper just pulled everything else together.

Today’s Video

Orchid Oasis is my favorite of the new In Colors. So, I knew that I would be using that color on my card. So Saffron never sees a lot of love and that is why I chose it for my second color. I am not sure why I don’t use it very often!

Stampin’ Up’s Blending Brushes are the perfect tool to lay down color on the Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper. I am often asked how I store and clean my brushes. I have a brush for every color of the rainbow. They are stored in a mason jar on a shelf by my desk. I simply swirl my brushes on scrap/grid paper when I am done using them to remove the excess ink. I put them back in the jar. That’s it!

Fun Hippest Hippo Cards

The ballerina hippo was just calling my name as I designed today’s card. It is just the sweetest little image. And the dies offered so many options to add interest to my card. You really need to make sure you get both the stamp set and the dies.

Of course, we cannot forget our other hippo friends! They are just as cute. 🙂 I just cannot recommend the Hippest Hippos Stamp Set enough.

Just a reminder that Sale-A-Bration ends on August 31, 2022. Now is the perfect time to get restocked on all of the basic supplies or order prepaid Paper Pumpkin codes!

As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!
