Fitting Florets by Stampin’ Up

Stampin’ Up is currently offering an online exclusive collection called Fitting Florets. I had so much fun creating and playing with these products! To begin, I took the coordinating colors of cardstock and started cutting frames and shapes. Next, I stamped and colored many of the floral images using my Stampin’ Blend markers. And lastly, I began to put cards together. I was like a kid at Christmas!

Today’s Video

The Fitting Florets Collection is made up of many different products. Take a look at these images to see all of the beautiful things.

The Framed Florets Bundle will actually carry over to the new January – April Mini Catalog. But, the Designer Series Paper, Framed & Festive Stamp Set, and the Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls are only available while supplies last.

More Fitting Florets Cards

The card featured in the video is really nice. However, I think the first card I made with this collection is my favorite. It is the same design used in the video. I simply used different colors. The remaining cards just got easier to make once I started playing! Having many elements cut and ready was the key! Which card is your favorite?

Hopefully, you will find this video and these examples inspiring. That is always my goal! As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Hues of Happiness by Stampin’ UP

The Hues of Happiness Suite of products caught my eye from day one! It is actually featured on the cover of our new 2022-2023 Annual Stampin’ Up Catalog. The bundle features a photopolymer stamp set and a die set. The embellishments in the kit are the Glossy Dots Assortment. And the Designer Series Paper is a total knockout!

Where Do I Even Begin?

I admit that I was totally blocked as to where to begin. So, I just started playing. This is where I decided that while I love the Designer Series Paper, I wanted to hand paint my flowers. Be sure to watch the video to learn my process. Here is a little photo that shows what methods I have tried. It’s not the greatest photo but it is a great comparison.

Additionally, here is how the Orchid Oasis from the video turned out after it dried. You can see the difference from the smaller Night of Navy flower.

My first cards were created by taking a simple card sketch and using that as my guide. Once I did this, my creative block went away. You can always find ideas in the Stampin’ Up Catalogs or on Pinterest. There is a link to my boards on my homepage.

More Hues of Happiness Cards

Next, I progressed to a card that featured some heat embossing. Don’t you just love the white images on the Night of Navy cardstock? So classy!

Then, I jumped into a more stepped-up card. I wanted it to have a lot of layers. And Pool Party cardstock always makes a pretty card.

And finally, my heart was happy with this Fresh Freesia card. I am also so happy with the Gray Granite version that we made together on the video. I hope that you were inspired to create one of these Hues of Happiness cards today. That would really make me smile!

Thank you for joining me today. As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Introducing The Flowering Fields Suite

Oh my goodness! The Flowering Fields Suite is simply amazing. It features not just one bundle, but two! Both the Flowering Tulips Bundle and the Tulip Fields Bundle are made up of a photopolymer stamp set and a die set. Watching the video today is an absolute must to see all of the possibilities of the suite.

Today’s Video

Bundle One: Tulip Fields

Using these stamps and dies, you can transport yourself to the Netherlands! You can create row after row of your favorite color tulips. Additionally, with the dies, you can design your own windmill. How fun is that! The designers really hit it out of the park with this bundle.

Bundle Two: Flowering Tulips

The second bundle featured in the Flowering Fields Suite is called Flowering Tulips. The floral stamps are two-step stamps. As a result, you will get great definition in your images. You can even use two different colors for more variety! These dies will not only cut out your stamped images, but they will also cut out blank petals for you to assemble.

In today’s video, I chose to cut out Basic White images and color them using Mango Melody chalk. But I could have also cut them out of DSP or colored cardstock. Inks, Stampin’ Blends, or Watercolor Pencils could have been used to color the cardstock as well.

As for me, this suite of products unleashed a joyful spirit and sense of creativity in me that I hadn’t experienced for quite some time. I hope and pray that the year 2022 will do the same for you! As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative!

Harvest Meadow by Stampin’ Up

When the Holiday Mini Catalog came out, I was immediately drawn to the Harvest Meadow Suite. I am a fall girl at heart and these colors just drew me in!

Today’s Video

I will admit that I bought this entire suite. The images and sentiments of the stamp set work for so many different occasions. However, on today’s card, I used a Happy Birthday sentiment from a different stamp set because that is the kind of card I needed.

The Timeworn Type Embossing Folder is one that you will find yourself using all of the time! And adding the Soft Succulent Ink just emphasizes the raised parts of the cardstock.

More Harvest Meadow Cards

I loved the examples shown in the catalog. So, that is where I started to play! If you ever find yourself needing a jumping off point, I would suggest copying one the catalog examples. That will get your creative juices flowing!

This fun fold card was great to make. Because of the design, I was able to use and showcase many different images from the stamp set.

I particularly love the trim in this suite. Therefore, this is my favorite of today’s cards!

Pool Party is not listed as one of the colors in the DSP, but that is exactly what color that I saw. This was a different color combination but I feel that it works.

I hope that you were inspired today to try this terrific suite of products. The suite is just jam packed with goodness! As always, remember to be kind, send a card, and do something creative.

Stellar Birthday

I live in Huntsville, AL. We are the Rocket City. The rockets developed here put man on the moon! Huntsville is home to the US Space & Rocket Center, Marshall Space Flight Center, and Space Camp. There was no doubt that I would be purchasing the Stellar Birthday stamp Set!

This stamp set features whimsical space children, a dog, and sayings that play off of the space theme. It comes across as a set only for children’s birthday cards, but I will show you a version for adult space enthusiasts as well.

Today’s Video

My first card is a sweet fun fold card. This project begins with creating my own DSP. I used our Whisper White Craft Ink Pad and the star stamp to create a night sky. Don’t forget about this star stamp when you sit down to make Christmas Cards this year!

There aren’t any dies to match this stamp set. However, the images are not difficult to fussy cut. And these images are so cute! You can customize the hair and skin color to represent your favorite child. I love that!

More Stellar Birthday Cards

My second card is on a Smoky Slate base. It is in a horizontal orientation. The greeting was stamped with Night of Navy ink and embossed using clear embossing powder. The embossing just helps it stand out a little better.

My final card is for a very special friend. Mr. Frank is a member of my church family. He has worked in the space industry for decades. Frank is just now getting ready for retirement and he is in his 80’s. Yes, you read that correctly!

Card Supplies

The colors of Stampin’ Blends that I used for my cards were: Misty Moonlight L+D, Real Red L+D, Daffodil Delight L, Pumpkin Pie L, Melon Mambo L, Smoky Slate L+D, Petal Pink L, Ivory, Bronze, Soft Suede L+D, and Crumb Cake L.

Biggest Wish – July 2021 Color Challenge

Today I am making a card using the Biggest Wish stamp set. Also, we will be using our Stamparatus to stamp our images employing the hinge technique. This stamp set features both a large, chunky font and a more delicate, script font.

Biggest Wish Video

This month we were assigned the colors of Pacific Point, So Saffron, and Poppy Parade for our team color challenge. I love each one of the colors! When I first made this card I used Poppy Parade for the mat and stamped “birthday” in So Saffron. Which version do you prefer?

More Color Challenge Cards

This card features the Natural Textures Host stamp set and the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. I love this happy little fun fold card! I think that we will need to revisit this fold very soon. It would work with any DSP and stamp set.

This last card is my personal favorite. The “splotch” stamp is from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set. Additionally, I stamped the floral images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink using the Painted Poppies stamp set. The sentiment is from the Many Messages stamp set.

Well Suited Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up

Do you struggle with making masculine cards? The Well Suited Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up makes creating these types of cards SO MUCH easier! The prints of the Designer Series Paper in this suite work so well together. They reflect many styles from the very reserved to the very flashy dresser.

Today’s Video

The dies in this suite is where the magic happens! They are so versatile. In addition to suits, I have also seen medical scrubs, Hawaiian shirts, and plaid shirts with suspenders. I have even seen someone turn the “V” shape upside down and create pajama pants. You will definitely be able to capture the spirit of the person you have in mind for a card!

You might not be able to see in the photo, but I used the Subtle Embossing Folder on the paisley printed paper on this card. I also added the Well Suited Twine to this card.

Misty Moonlight works really well with this suite of products. It softens a lot of the patterns.

Don’t forget to save all of your paper scraps from this DSP. It adds such a pop of color to the inside layer of your card. Also, if you are trying to make a lot of the suit jackets it takes more paper than we are accustomed to using on our cards.
